Online Grassroots License Courses

U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Licensing Courses offer an a-la-carte approach to empower coaches with education that is relevant to your specific coaching needs. The Grassroots Licenses will help you create fun, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate environments for your players.

The Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module serves as the first step in obtaining any one of Grassroots Licenses: 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11. More information on the Online Grassroot License courses are below:

The online Grassroots courses will be available for $25 in both English and Spanish.

We encourage our coaches to complete Grassroot courses and will reimburse you upon successful completion.

Note: When signing up for an account on the U.S. Soccer Learning Center, make sure to use the same email as you do for your Demosphere account.

Youth Sports as a Development Zone

Youth sports is dominated by a win-at-all-cost mentality that leads to undesired and sometimes tragic results. Changing the Game in Youth Sports

John O'Sullivan remembers when youth sports was about children competing with other children instead of adults competing with each other through their kids. Following nearly three decades as a soccer player and coach, O'Sullivan began working to reshape youth sports and inspire a major shift in culture. After serving as a youth coach for the Portland Timbers in Bend, he founded the Changing the Game Project and is now an international speaker and national best-selling author of Changing the Game: The Parents Guide to Raising Happy, High-Performing Athletes and Giving Youth Sports back to Our Kids.
